Absolutely Stunning Mid-Century Collection Of 9 Executive Kinetic Toys Designed in Japan by Famed Designer Patriarch Goro Otagiri and made by Press in Italy. Featuring 9 first edition pieces from the original release of the collection in 1962, all of the characters in the collection are referred to as fellows and ours has 9 of the fellows . Our set features some of the RAREST fellows from the ‘Swing Fellows’, the ‘Trio of Dolphin Fellows’ & the ‘Fisherman Fellow’. The collection is indicative of the ‘White Collar Worker’ that emerged as the world began to digitise & move into large office spaces & there was a view to the future. As the wealthy middle class came into conception in the early 1960s and people were climbing the career ladder it became customary to gift these small executive toys, especially in places like Japan, & the rarer the executive toy usually the more powerful the owner and that’s what makes this collection so very special as it features those same ultra rare toys. The ‘66’ World Cup Football Fellow’ is a special edition addition to the original 8 fellows featured in our collection, the original 8 being from the first edition release in 1962. Goro Otagiri was commissioned by FIFA to create Football Fellows to celebrate the World Cup taking place in 1966 as he was living in Italy at this point and football being so prominent in Europe the market was huge so with this commission came the ‘66’ World Cup Football Fellow’. They are extremely rare to find.
