Pair of original American Brass and Walnut Lamps designed by world renowned lighting company Modeline California in 1970 for their flagship collection for The Beverly Hills Hotel as part of the huge renovation that took place there in 1972.
Designed with traditional Greco-Roman Pedestal column bases, their stark firm lines complement the gradually undulating top fitting that leads to a stunningly handcrafted shade; the shades are done with gold leaf banding, constructed in the finest silk-neoprene blend and featuring a crowning protector finished with original brass fitting.
The lamps softly lit silk shades emit a beautifully soft and ambient light. With two bulbs in each lamp and the original 3 way switch fitting, the amount of light desired can be controlled by simply pulling the brass chord and the lights go on and off in the following formation -
Off, left bulb on, right bulb on, both bulbs on. This allows full control over the light emitted.
Constructed in the finest materials from Acacia Walnut, Silk and solid brass this impressive pair of lamps are worthy investment for any buyer looking to add a truly Californian sense of grandeur to their home.
