A stunningly rare collection set of three ‘6514’ design ceramics designed and produced by Fratelli Fanciullacci in 1950: A jug, vase and small pot. Featuring a beautiful geometric design with cool powder-blue background exterior, decorated with multi-coloured squares of black, blue, lime green, yellow, pink, burgundy, and further layered with vertical irregular white lines throughout, interior is finished in a fine white glaze.
The Fratelli Fanciullacci pottery was established in Capraia Fiorentino in 1862 or 1858) by Raffaello Fanciullacci (1803-1881). The company originally made simple table and kitchen ware. By 1880 the pottery’s name was changed from Ceramiche Capraia to The Brothers (Fratelli) Fanciullacci. In 1911 they moved operations from Capraia to the other side of the Arno River in Montelupo. By 1914 the company became the largest employer in the area and had over 1,000 different moulds, making their range the most appealing in the country.
This exquisite set of three is a brilliant example of Fanciullacci’s work and a highly decorative and collectible example of Iconic Italian mid century pottery. A must have for any collector.
